Microcapsule triggering mechanics in cementitious materials: a modelling and machine learning approach - data
This dataset contains the results of an experimental, numerical and machine learning investigation into the fracture of microcapsules in cementitious materials. The experimental results concern the mechanical properties (strength and stiffness) of produced microcapsules. The numerical model employed a continuum damage mechanics approach and was used for the virtual testing of microcapsule fracture under varying properties of the microcapsule, cementitious matrix, and interfacial bond. The results of the virtual testing were used to train a neural network which was subsequently employed to produce design curves indicating necessary conditions for microcapsule fracture. The dataset comprises an Excel file which contains the results of the experimental and virtual testing.
