MATLAB scripts for grain size and misorientation analysis of epidote-blueschist samples
Two representative samples of epidote-blueschist were analysed through electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) to quantify epidote-blueschist foliation and deformation style of glaucophane and epidote. EBSD data was acquired using the Zeiss HD Field Emission Gun Analytical Scanning Electron Microscope in the department of Earth and Environemntal Sciences at Cardiff University.
This dataset contains two MATLAB scripts used for the quantification of grain size and foliation ("Data_Script_SPO.m") and intragranular misorientation ("Data_Script_Misorientation.m") of glaucophane and epidote. The misorientation script data can be interpreted using the free MTEX software (https://mtex-toolbox.github.io/), and the grain size script data can be interpreted using ImageJ analysis (https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/download.html). The scripts used were modified from the MTEX toolbox (e.g., Bachmann et al., 2010).
