Herein, we report the B(C6F5)3-catalyzed (E)-selective isomerization of alkenes. The transition metal free method is applicable across a diverse array of readily accessible substrates, gaining access to a broad range of synthetically useful products containing versatile stereodefined internal alkenes. The reaction mechanism was investigated using synthetic and computational methods.

Analysis of reaction products from this methodology resulted in the following data:

1H, 19F and 13C NMR raw data files

IR spectra

High resolution mass spectrometry spectra.

Research results based upon these data are published at https://doi.org/10.1002/chem.202202454
